Blondie announce gig at Westonbirt Arboretum

An atomic show is in store at Westonbirt Arboretum this summer as Blondie arrive at the forest venue.

Fronted by the iconic Debbie Harry and undoubtedly one of pop music’s most enduring bands, they have announced a gig at the Tetbury venue as part of the Forestry Commission Live Music programme.

They arrive on June 20 and tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday, February 12.

The announcement follows the news that Status Quo, Keane, James Morrison and Simply Red will be performing at the spectacular venue this summer too.

Forestry Commission Live Music takes place every year in seven forest locations around the country, with money from ticket sales going to preservation of the nation’s woodlands.

Last year Paul Weller, Vanessa Mae and David Gray were part of the programme.

Tickets for the Blondie show are expected to sell out fast, especially as the band is due to release its first album in six years this spring.

Blondie emerged from New York’s celebrated new wave scene producing innovative music and scoring major hits worldwide with songs such as Denis, Picture This, Rapture and Sunday Girl.

Few acts can match their 20 year span of number one hits which include Heart Of Glass, Atomic, Call Me, The Tide Is High and Maria.
