Gloucester Cathedral is hosting a screening of the latest blockbuster movie - Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - on October 29.
Warner Brothers, the makers of the Harry Potter series, have offered a copy of the film to be screened inside the cathedral, which features in the movie as a backdrop of the Hogwarts School of Witchfraft and Wizardry.
The film will be projected onto a 20ft X 9ft screen, with 350 tickets going on sale on the stroke of Midnight, on August 23, at www.ticketweb.co.uk.
They will also be also available over the counter at the Cathedral shop or by calling Marketing Gloucester Ltd on 01452 207020 from August 24. Costs are £8 for children under 16 and £10 for adults.
The Cathedral shop will also be selling 100 guided tour tickets at £2 each, for the chance to take a behind-the-scenes peek around the filming locations at the Cathedral before the big screening.
Andrew Mitchell Stead, Marketing Gloucester's events and marketing manager, said: “The film went on general release in cinemas last month but for the diehard Harry Potter fans, the chance to watch it in the real life setting for Hogwarts will be a not-to-be-missed opportunity.
“The setting of the Cathedral will lend an extra atmosphere to the film you could never capture in a multiplex cinema.”
