Focus on: Paintings

If you’ve got any room left on your walls, or would like to buy someone a nice Christmas present, then Dominic Winter, of South Cerney in the Cotswolds, has some reasonably priced ones – £300 to £500 – coming up for auction at its art sale on Wednesday, December 3.

They include a Tuscan landscape by Edward Ardizzone (1900-1979), showing people harvesting in an orchard and a wood engraving of a peregrine on a falconer’s glove by Charles Tunnicliffe (1901-1979).

You’ll also find an oil, a trompe l’oeil still-life of early English pottery  by Christopher Harrison, and a nice watercolour of pink flamingoes at London Zoo by Winifred Austen (1876-1964).
